Description
Built for tight ledges, limited backcasts, and real-world fishing
This K-Labs short surf / rock rod is designed for anglers who want control, durability, and sensitivity without the bulk and fatigue of long surf rods.
The shorter length makes it ideal for:
- Fishing off rocky ledges
- Restricted back space where a full cast isn’t possible
- Anglers who prefer a lighter, more manageable rod
- Younger or newer surfcasters stepping up from heavier setups
Despite its compact form, this rod is a proven fish catcher, offering excellent bite detection and easy handling in real coastal conditions.
Tough glass blank construction
Built on a fibreglass blank, this rod prioritises durability and forgiveness — ideal for rough terrain, knocks on rocks, and high-stress fishing environments. Glass delivers a smooth, progressive action that loads easily and protects lighter rigs.
Premium components throughout
- Guides: 6x ALPS 316 stainless steel frames with zirconium inserts for corrosion resistance and smooth line flow
- Reel seat: K-Labs DPSD-style reel seat — secure, comfortable, and proven in surf applications, 67cm from butt to underside of reel seat.
- Grips: Grey camo EVA grips for durability and wet-hand control
- Butt: Rounded rubber gimbal butt cap for comfort and stability
- Finish detail: Heat-shrink grip section between lower grips for added protection, durability, and a clean, professional finish
Purpose-built performance
This rod isn’t about gimmicks — it’s about confidence on the rocks, reliable casting where space is limited, and a blank that can take real use without complaint.
If you want a compact surf or rock rod that just works, this one earns its place in the rack.
